History of Chaos

At the beginning of history
the universe brought forth all water and the rivers,
and it let be light.
And as it did so,
chaos, screaming, entered the universe
and made the rivers dangerous.
There is much beauty and much danger in chaos.
By that alone, I understand chaos.
