Webzines

Net RPG

"Bringing Internet resources to RPG gamers for free". With the Beer and Pretzels Roleplaying archive.

RPGnet

"The inside scoop on gaming". Mostly about published systems and new products, but there are a few useful tips and tidbits buried deep inside.

Critical Miss

It calls itself "The Magazine for Dysfunctional Roleplayers", but I can't imagine a functional roleplayer unless it's those people who are only concerned with their place on the international tournament score list. It does have a slight (and inoffensive) xD&D bias.

The Way, the Truth and the Dice

The magazine of the Christian Gamer's Guild (that's really where they have the apostrophe), formerly the Christian Role Playing Gamers Association. I've circumvented their spiffy redirection, because that makes Konqueror crash (probably bad Javascript).

Uncle Bear's Toybox

"Geek news and resources for roleplayers, gamemasters and game designers". Updated frequently. A great sendup of the (in)famous "Dark Dungeons" pamphlet used to be there, but alas, it no longer is. The copy of Dark Dungeons I found here doesn't have the funny comments. And here is what Jack Chick doesn't want you to see.

People

Andrew Rilstone

Andrew is a Christian in the vein of C.S. Lewis and Dorothy L. Sayers, and makes no effort to hide it. He writes rather peppery articles, not only about roleplaying. Recommended if you can cope with a strong opinion.

Mary K. Kuhner

did some exciting writeups of games famous on rec.games.frp.advocacy: Radiant (space opera) and Jayhawk (cyberpunk).

Things

Gamers' Resources

Everything here is real-world information. It might just as well be called "The Serendipity Palace".

Patricia C. Wrede's worldbuilding questions

Useful for writers, game designers and worldbuilders-for-fun. She says that you don't have to answer all the questions, but it's very tempting to try.

FUDGE

A "game construction kit" designed by Steffan O'Sullivan. I would probably use it if I hadn't had a more than adequate homebrew already when I heard of it. FUDGE: Deryni is a version adapted to the world of the Deryni books by Katherine Kurtz.

Queeste

A roleplaying classic. Warning: it's all in Dutch.

My secret vice...

Not quite a roleplaying game, though you get to play a role: NetHack (try Kate Nepveu's spoiler site). For the wibblings of Raisse the Thaumaturge (that's me) the place to go is rec.games.roguelike.nethack. And just for fun, have a look at the LegoHack page.
